FINAL ASSESSMENT HEARING
July 6, 2011 – 7:00 P.M.
CRANE LAKE CHAPEL FELLOWSHIP HALL
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rob
Scott at 7:00P.M.
Members present:
Managers Mark Anderson, Bruce Beste, Bill Congdon and Rob Scott.
Members absent: Darrell Scott.
Also present: S.E.H. Representative Randy Jenniges, Clerk/Treasurer
Jo Ann Pohlman, a representative from the Cook News-Herald, and 2 members of
the community.
Chairman Scott opened the Final Assessment Hearing and
turned the meeting over to Engineer Randy Jenniges of S.E.H. The special assessments were explained as
assessments against the properties benefited by the improvement along the CSAH
24 Extension within the ESA of the Crane Lake Water & Sanitary District.
The resolution to be adopted at the Board of
Managers’ meeting was reviewed stating the interest rate of 5.25% per annum
from the date of the resolution adoption. To
the first installment shall be added interest on the entire assessment from the
date of this resolution until December 31, 2011. To each subsequent installment
when due shall be added interest for one year on all unpaid installments.
The owner of any property so assessed may
at any time prior to certification of the assessment to the county auditor, pay
the whole of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued to the date
of payment, to the city treasurer, except that no interest is paid within 30
days from the adoption of this resolution; and he may, at any time thereafter,
pay to the city treasurer the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid,
with interest accrued to December 31 of the year in which such payment is made.
Such payment must be made before November 15 or interest will be charged through
December 31 of the next succeeding year.
Easements were also discussed.
The 90 day hook-up requirement was
discussed.
The District approved electrician
requirement was discussed.
The hearing was adjourned at 7:20PM
