Petition for ANNEXATION TO a Sanitary District

1. Request for Annexation to Sanitary District.  The Crane Lake Water and Sanitary District (the “District”), St. Louis County, Minnesota and the Town of Crane Lake, St. Louis County, Minnesota (the “Town” and together with the District, the “Petitioners”), hereby make request pursuant to Minn. Stat. §442A.05 to allow the annexation of the following property to the District. 

• Description of Territory.  The territory of the proposed annexation area is within the Town of Crane Lake, St. Louis County, Minnesota.  The area is legally described as follows:

• Statement of Conditions Requisite for Annexation to District.  Petitioners have determined that the following conditions, without intending any limitation, justify the annexation to the District:

• Public Meeting.  On ________________2020, Petitioners held a joint public meeting at which Petitioners provided information to citizens including a description of the District’s territory and the proposed annexation area and a summary of the reasons for the proposed annexation (the “Meeting”).  A copy of the record of the Meeting is attached hereto as Attachment A. 

• County Auditor Certificate.  The addresses of every property owner within the District and the proposed annexation area boundaries as provided by the County Auditor, and two sets of address labels for said owners are attached as Attachment B.

• Statement of Territorial Units and Qualifications of Signors. 

• __________ represents the Town.  _____________ is qualified to sign this Petition because he is the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors (the “Town Board”) of the Town of Crane Lake and was authorized to sign this Petition by a resolution of the Town Board, duly passed and published more than 40 days before the date hereof, a certified copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment C, and incorporated herein by reference.
